International partners

The University of Caen Normandie, in partnership with the University of Strasbourg, is developing an online management system for all public on international mobility called SMILE that will reduce the administration workload for international mobility, dematerialise procedures and improve the monitoring and management of mobility.

This project is financed by the French Higher Education Ministry and supported by the Eramsus+ France Agency, by the association of international relations directors and IT directors.

This new service has been created in a strong context of digitalisation driven by the Erasmus+ Charter 2021/2027.

The project aims to offer a single-entry point for international students to carry out their administrative procedures (e. g. Courses choice, Online Learning Agreement, transcript of records…).

The procedures involved

  • Easy access to the online course catalogue of the host university
  • Automatic edition of the Learning Agreement and electronic validation
  • Pre-registration and submission of supporting documents
  • Conversion of transcript of records

The benefits for partner universities

  • The courses catalogue is adapted to the students’ profile and provides course descriptions, credits and assessment methods
  • The data exchanges are more secured and reliable thanks to the eduGAIN login
  • The validation of the learning agreement is easier for partners, and does not require to create an account.
  • SMILE meets the requirements of the new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 program concerning the digitalisation and dematerialisation of international relations procedures
